Our History            

Alvin Fairburn & Associates, LLC. was established in 1975 by Mr. Alvin Fairburn, Sr. and his wife, Kay.  Both lifelong residents of Livingston Parish, Mr. Alvin and Mrs. Kay set up their practice in Denham Springs.  Through their leadership and strong work ethic, AFA was built on a foundation of professionalism, integrity and dedication.  AFA is still family owned.

In 1999, AFA purchased, Alex Theriot & Associates, Inc.  This expansion doubled the size of AFA.  This acquisition added decades to surveying, engineering and architectural knowledge, experience and records, dating back to 1965.

Gene Eleazar, AIA, Chief Architect

We are the oldest and largest engineering/land surveying firm in Livingston Parish.  We are proud to employ over 75 men and women from surrounding communities.

In 2008, AFA was named Large Business of the Year by the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce.
